We’re Feeling Very Full of Ourselves Right Now
We’ve got some very exciting news to share…
The Full of Ourselves Podcast has officially been shortlisted in the Business 2 Business category at the inaugural Scottish Podcast Awards (sponsored by Spotify). 🎉
The application
Anna here. I was planning to apply and then saw the deadline in my calendar and had to quickly get us in - it went to the wire! So when the email notification that we were shortlisted landed in my inbox today I was overwhelmed. And weirdly, Heidi and I had just been on a one-hour call and had just said goodbye! And then I was frantically ringing her when I knew she had a corporate event she was hosting not long after. She didn’t pick up! So I left her a message saying I needed 1 minute of her time - because I couldn’t wait to share the news. Fortunately, she called me and we were able to have an emotional scream fest on the phone.
With more than 400 entries submitted from across Scotland, being shortlisted feels incredibly special - especially in a category alongside so many established and respected shows.

The awards ceremony will take place on Thursday 25th June at Glasgow’s iconic Old Fruitmarket, and we genuinely cannot wait to celebrate alongside so many brilliant creators and voices from across Scotland.
Why the Scottish Podcast Awards?
Now you may well be asking, why are we in the running in the Scottish Podcast Awards? Heidi and I were both brought up in England and yes, we do have English accents. But I have lived in Scotland for the past 9 years (and my Dad is Scottish). Plus our brilliant podcast and video editor is based in Scotland. So for this reason we are eligible for the Scottish Podcast Awards. In fact, it is only Heidi on the team who is not in Scotland.
How we feel about being finalists
What makes this nomination feel even more meaningful is why we started the podcast in the first place. Full of Ourselves was never about polished perfection or pretending we have everything figured out. It was about creating honest conversations about business, ambition, confidence, visibility, money, identity, creativity and what it really means for women to take up space in the world. The kinds of conversations women are often told to make smaller and the kinds of conversations that make women feel less alone. And clearly, those conversations are resonating. All this on the backdrop of only 7% of podcasts on business and tech are hosted by women - we’re taking our place on the stage.
